Services
Face to face
Face-to-face sessions last for 50 minutes and take place within a confidential, quiet space. Our first session will be an informal assessment whereby you can decide if you and I working together is the right fit for you, the number of sessions required, what you would like to achieve from counselling, and any adjustments you may require. However, nothing is set in stone; I will check in from time to time to see if your preferences or needs have changed and how we adjust for that. My style of working is pluralistic and that means I hold an appreciation that we are all different and therefore require different things at different times. I place the onus on you as the counselling client to be a co-participant in the counselling process that ensures we are working in a way that meets you and your needs.
Online therapy
Face-to-face sessions may not suit all; some prefer working online, and the research indicates this way of working can be as beneficial as that of face-to-face. I use trusted software so you can be confident sessions will remain private and confidential Suitability for online working will be assessed; whilst you do not need to be a tech whizz, basic knowledge will be required to log onto the platform. If this is an area you do not feel comfortable but would like to work online, I am happy to guide you through the process. I treat online sessions in the same vein as face-to-face and ask that you have a confidential, and quiet space to work from to ensure you feel safe sharing what you choose.
Walk and talk
For some, sitting across from someone else for 50 minutes can feel a little intense or perhaps you enjoy being outside, if that is the case sessions can take place outside in nature, perhaps you have a favourite walking route or place you enjoy going to. If this is your preference, we can discuss this more at the assessment stage.
